Present Futures 2023 returns to the Centre of Contemporary art (CCA) Glasgow on 22 - 24 June. Now in its fifth edition this year’s festival focuses on relationships between performance, ecology, and the creation of new myth. Through a series of performances, discussions, and films it considers the creation of new mythologies and ecological transition as we enter collectively into precarious and unknown futures. With contributions from local and international artists including Ana Pi, Louise Ahl, Robbie Synge, Adham Faramawy, Libby Heaney, Matthieu Blond, Mega Hertz, Maya Deren, Althea Young, Ama Josephine Budge, Karen Christopher, David Overend, Lilli Kuschel and Rosanna Cade.
Present Futures is an International bi-annual multi-disciplinary arts festival curated by Colette Sadler and produced by Feral Arts. It was founded in 2016 by choreographer and multi-disciplinary artist Colette Sadler to platform cutting edge Scottish and International artists that move between performance, film, visual arts and theory. Curatorially the festival deals with thematics such as post-humanism, artificial agencies, and speculative futures with artistic experimentation at its core.
Based at Centre for Contemporary Arts Glasgow (CCA) the festival has worked in partnership with GoMa (Gallery of Modern Art), Goethe Institute, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, The Work Room and Tramway. Present Futures is committed to artist development.
