Sound Journey and Participatory Movement Workshop
Back into lockdown, it seems quite palpable how the amount of online information keeps growing. Within the measures taken to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the internet, with its social networks, is the platform for social exchange via video, photo and text material. The participatory online workshop “(Re)Searching BODY A” enables the participants* to have an auditory hypnotic experience with the aid of the Zoom software. The improvement of our listening skills can be a first step towards the transformation of personal and collective communication patterns, even for society as a whole. We can put times in which physical proximity remains impossible to good use while learning to listen better.
For the duration of one hour, “(Re)Searching BODY A” lets the listeners* dive into a choreographic sound track that will be spoken live by Colette Sadler, in collaboration with music by Mikko Gaestel and Heiko Tubbesing. This participatory voyage deploys speculative conceptions of the future as tools to create movements, to retrieve altered states of body perception and to explore fluid notions of space and time. With this work Colette Sadler continues to pursue her research interest around the topics of “sci-fi – subjectivity”, prototyping (a software development method) as well as the re-invention of the body.
